About NEAVS
What Vivisection is:
VIVISECTION is animal experimentationcutting,
burning, shocking, drugging, starving, irradiating, blinding
and killing animals. An estimated 25 - 40 million animals
in the U.S. suffer and are killed each year in laboratories
for biomedical experimentation, product and cosmetic testing,
and in education.
What You Can do to Stop Vivisection:
- Buy only cruelty-free products.
NEAVS has compiled a list of Cruelty-Free
Companies. Write to companies that still test their
products on animals and let them know that you won't buy
their products until they stop.
- Make sure your charitable contributions
are not going to wasteful animal experimentation. Click
here to see a list of medical charities that do and
do not fund vivisection.
- Tell the college or university from
which you graduated that you
won't donate to the alumni fund as long as they do vivisection.
Tell them your contributions will go to fund work to stop vivisection,
not to institutions that support it. Contact
NEAVS for information about your alma mater.
- Educate yourself and others about
vivisection. Contact
NEAVS for free suggested reading, video lists, and information
on materials to donate to public and school libraries.
- Spread
the Word! Write letters
to the editor of your local paper explaining how vivisection
impedes progress on human health problems and is cruel to
animals. Contact
NEAVS if you would like to receive sample letters.
- Check out our
action alerts for what you can do to help locally, nationally
and globally.
- Become a NEAVS
supporter and help us abolish vivisection.
- If you live in the Boston area,
volunteer
at NEAVS.
