ESEC & Teacher Partnerships
The Ethical Science and Education Coalition is
committed to establishing alternatives to animal use in the classroom
via tabling at conventions, lecturing at schools, etc., and demonstrating
the newest alternative technology. As a New England-based organization,
ESEC maintains a local focus, but also provides support to students,
teachers, and parents throughout the United States and other countries.

| ESEC supplied dissection alternatives to classrooms
on a loan basis and helped teachers learn the new software at
the Stoughton, MA high school.
"We are always looking for new technology aids," said Michael
Nassise, Director of Natural and Applied Sciences at the high
school. He will be adding the alternative programs, Cat Lab
and Digital Frog2, to Stoughton's traditional dissection curriculum.

Examples of ESEC’s
Presentations
ESEC continues to give lectures, presentations,
and demonstrations throughout Massachusetts, in an attempt to bring
students, teachers, parents, and advocates a first hand look at
the alternative technology available today and to discuss the ethical
issues surrounding the use of animals in the classroom. ESEC has
received presentation requests from after-school programs, biology
and ethics classes, schools, and retirement communities.
At a presentation for an ethics class, topics
included the students’ experiences with dissection and how the dissection
industry supports animal abuse and environmental degradation.
Request a Presentation
ESEC representatives travel throughout Massachusetts,
and in some instances, to other parts of New England, to give presentations
tailored to meet the needs and interests of the audience. If you
are interested in requesting a presentation on the issues surrounding
the use of animals in education, please contact
ESEC.
Please note that due to the high volume
of requests we receive, we may not be able to fill all requests.
Please be sure to provide several choices of dates and times. Thank
you.
