Helping & Giving
Planned Giving:
Remembering NEAVS and the Animals
In the more than 107 years that NEAVS
has been working to replace the use of animals in testing,
research, and education, we have received numerous bequests,
donations, and other thoughtful provisions to help the animals.
This generosity and commitment to
our mission has contributed significantly to our many successful
campaigns and outreach efforts.
A will is the easiest and most
effective means to provide for those you care about. It will
insure that your assets are distributed as you wish. Many
friends have remembered NEAVS in their will. These bequests
provide a major portion of our funding each year.
Please check with your attorney. Here
are examples of how a bequest to NEAVS can be worded:
I give, devise,
and bequeath to the New England Anti-Vivisection Society the
sum of $________ to be used for the general purposes of the
Society."
OR
I give, devise, and bequeath to the New England Anti-Vivisection
Society, for its general purposes all (or state fraction or
percentage) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate,
both real or personal.
OR
I give, devise, and bequeath the sum of $___________ to the
New England Anti-Vivisection Society to be used to fund an
endowment for the Society.
A gift to NEAVS through your will
has several advantages:
- Charitable gifts made through your
will are 100 percent deductible for estate tax purposes
- A charitable bequest may
place your estate in a lower estate tax bracket
- You may specify that your bequest
be used for general purposes, for a particular area of interest
or as an endowment.
- When you notify NEAVS of your bequest
intention, you will be inducted into the Philip G. Peabody
Founders Circle.
