NEAVS Donates Supplies to Two- and Four-legged NYC Rescue Workers
BOSTON, Mass. - (NORTHEAST) - Sept. 14, 2001 - Amidst the efforts
of so many to help in this time of need, the Boston-based New England
Anti-Vivisection Society (NEAVS) is helping to provide supplies
including bedding, veterinary tape and pet wipes for rescue dogs,
and socks, gloves and outerwear for their human coworkers.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of
the victims of this, our country's greatest tragedy," said NEAVS
President Dr. Theodora Capaldo. "Like so many others wanting to
help, NEAVS looked for a way to provide comfort and support. We
focused on the dogs and their handlers whose efforts are so critical
to this crisis.
"In the hours, days and weeks ahead, both human and canine rescue
workers are going to be in continuous need of fresh supplies. As
an organization whose mission is to move the world toward limitless
compassion, NEAVS wishes to provide some of these much needed items
on behalf of our thousands of caring supporters," Capaldo said.
These items were specially selected from the NYPD K-9 Search and
Rescue team's Wish List, according to Capaldo.
