Resources & ArchivesBook Review:
Animal Grace - A Hopeful New Book
(Spring 2000)
In her book Animal Grace: Entering a Spiritual Relationship with our Fellow Creatures, psychologist Mary Lou Randour begins with some very simple premises and weaves a progressively more challenging argument as to why the relationship humans have with non-human animals is worth examining, taking seriously and doing something about. The book is for seasoned animal advocates as well as those who haven't allowed themselves to truly embrace such an all encompassing definition of compassion.
Writes author Howard Lyman, "Animal Grace has the potential to do for animals what the hymn 'Amazing Grace' did for slavery." Theodora Capaldo, NEAVS President, says, "Dr. Randour's work gives us a clear road map as to how enlightened consciousness about animal suffering can lead us to a higher moral and spiritual ground."
