Spreading the Non-Violent Message

(Spring 2000) — When the underground animal liberation group, "The Justice Department," made news by allegedly using razor blades to booby-trap letters to Harvard primate researchers, the media deluged NEAVS with requests for information. NEAVS Research and Program Specialist Ann Stauble presented NEAVS' message to TV viewers, emphasizing the need to stop the bad science and cruelty inherent in animal experimentation. She reiterated that there is no need to resort to violence because the ethical and scientific wisdom of cruelty-free science speaks for itself. Reporters from WBZ-TV (Channel 4), New England Cable News and FOX 25 News were among those who covered the story.
