Cruelty-Free Shopping Guides help consumers practice kindness

(Winter 2001)— NEAVS and ESEC are offering Cruelty-Free Shopping Guides at no charge to foster consumer awareness of, and preference for, companies that manufacture cosmetics and household products not tested on animals. The Guide also lists companies that manufacture vegan products (made without any animal-derived ingredients such as honey, lanolin and milk) and companies that have adopted the Corporate Standard of Compassion for Animals stating that no ingredient, formulation or finished product has been or will be tested on animals.

Efforts to spread the word and encourage people to purchase cruelty-free products have been met with great enthusiasm. NEAVS and ESEC placed advertisements and public service announcements in area newspapers and magazines offering free guides. People even contacted our office for copies to give to friends and family during the holiday season.
