(Winter 2002) Thanks to the unwavering
vigilance and persistence of many NEAVS/ESEC supporters, House Bill
4409, "An Act Relative to Dissection Choice," has been
voted favorably out of House Ways & Means; has gone from the
Committee on House Steering, Policy, and Scheduling through first
and second readings; and, as of January/February 2002, has been
ordered to the House Committee on Bills in the Third Reading. The
bill is expected to be voted out favorably.
The next critical steps for H. 4409, once released
from this committee, is a third time reading by the House clerk,
and after approval, to make its way through the Senate and on to
the Governor’s Desk.
Please urge House Chairman
Robert A. DeLeo to release H. 4409 so students, teachers, administrators
and parents can benefit from this long-overdue legislation.
What YOU can do:
Please help students and animals in Massachusetts!
Respectfully urge Rep. DeLeo (D – representing precincts in Revere
and the town of Winthrop) to release H. 4409, the Dissection Choice
Bill, from committee so this critical legislation can continue on
its way to the Governor’s desk for signing.
