Leila Arefi-Pour

As a law clerk for NEAVS, Leila is responsible for various legal research and data collection duties pertaining to animal vivisection. In 2009, Leila received her B.A. in Political Science with a minor of Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. In 2018. Leila received her J.D. from Southern University Law Center (SULC) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During her time in law school, Leilafounded SULC’s Student Animal Legal Defense Fund Chapter and served as its president until her graduation. During her time in law school, Leila worked for Animal Welfare Institute as a Wildlife Policy Intern and was awarded a scholarship by Animal Legal Defense Fund for the Advancement of Animal Law.

Leila is currently an LL.M student at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, where she will graduate in May, 2019 with her LL.M (Master of Laws) in Animal Law.
